How ties are broken
Pool play standings and bracket seeding follow the standard USSSA hierarchy. Each is applied in order; the first one that separates two teams decides it.
- Winning percentage
- Number of wins
- Fewest losses
- Head-to-head winning percentage — only when exactly two teams are tied and they have played each other
- Fewest average runs allowed per game
- Best average run differential, with each game's margin capped at 8
- Coin flip
Two details worth knowing: head-to-head is skipped entirely when more than two teams are tied, or when the tied teams have not played each other — a three-way tie falls straight through to runs allowed. And the run differential cap is per game, so a 19–0 win counts the same as an 8–0 one.
Standings are computed from scores entered by a tournament director as games finish. The scorebook at the field is the official record.
