About the Program
Our Mission
True development of each individual player.
The mission of the Louisiana Redbirds is true development of each individual player.
We believe development is more than winning games. It is teaching players how to practice with purpose, compete with confidence, handle adversity, understand the game, and continually improve their skills.
Every player is different. Every player develops at a different pace. Our responsibility is to identify each athlete's strengths, areas for improvement, and potential — and then provide the coaching, competition, and environment necessary to help them reach that potential.
At the same time, we believe development and competition go hand in hand. Our intent is to build teams capable of challenging and competing against any hand-picked powerhouse organization in the country. We do not want our players to be intimidated by big names, established programs, or highly touted competition. We want to prepare them to step onto the field believing they belong there.
What We Stand For
Development. Competition. Character. Family.
Development First
Every player matters.
We are committed to developing complete baseball players rather than simply assembling talented rosters. We focus on fundamentals, baseball IQ, position-specific skills, athletic development, mental toughness, and the details that separate good players from great ones.
Compete With Everyone
We aren't interested in avoiding the best competition — we are preparing our players to face it.
The Redbirds will actively seek opportunities to compete against some of the strongest teams and organizations available. Our players should learn to embrace challenging games, because those are the experiences that push them to become better.
Character Matters
Baseball can teach lessons that extend far beyond the diamond.
We expect our players to represent themselves, their families, their coaches, and the Louisiana Redbirds with respect, discipline, accountability, and class. We want to develop young men and women who understand that how they carry themselves matters just as much as what they accomplish.
Family
The Redbirds are more than individual teams. We are building a program.
Our goal is to create a culture where players, coaches, and families take pride in being part of something bigger than themselves. Younger players should have role models within the organization, older players should have opportunities to lead, and every player should know that they are part of the Redbird family.
